Priceless Ledimo
Bio
Born and raised in the vibrant township of Kanana, Orkney in South Africa's North West province, Priceless Ledimo grew up surrounded by the rhythms of township life. Though music was always in the air, it wasn’t something he initially saw himself pursuing. His journey into music began not out of passion, but necessity—selling beats as a means of income. But what started as survival quickly evolved into purpose.
Priceless’s big break came when he was invited to work in a Johannesburg studio, where he spent two formative years under the mentorship of The Notorious King P in Zandspruit, Honeydew. The experience fueled his hunger to master his craft and laid the foundation for his career. In 2011, his talent was nationally recognized when his first music video aired on Zone D, a popular youth show on SABC 1.
Building on this momentum, in 2016 he independently released the single and music video for "Ntwana Kasi", which garnered over 5,000 views on Twitter and earned airplay on Lesedi FM 87.7 MHz. Although an interview opportunity with popular radio personality Thwasa fell through due to financial constraints, the buzz around Priceless continued to grow.
In December 2017, a performance at Rio Casino led to a life-changing scholarship offer from Boston City College to study the music business. After completing his studies, Priceless co-founded Mad Genius Publishers with Kabelo "Kalambo" Dhlamini, aiming to empower independent artists and take control of his own musical destiny.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic hit hard. With no income to sustain the company, Priceless was forced to shut down Mad Genius Publishers in 2020. But from that setback came a new vision. In 2021, he was recognized by YouTube Music and the BlackStripe Foundation as one of the most creative content creators in the country. With mentorship from South African legends like Oskido, Nadia Nakai, Busiswa, and Slikour, he discovered a new passion—videography.
That year, he launched Priceless Pictures, a film production company that now produces music videos, documentaries, movies, and talk shows. Despite his success behind the camera, Priceless has never stepped away from the mic. He proudly states that 2024 marks his return to music full-time, with film production becoming his side hustle.
With a story rooted in resilience, creativity, and self-belief, Priceless Ledimo is more than just a musician—he’s a storyteller, a pioneer, and a true artist of the people.
