Bio
Pawzz, born David Tokuma Dekor on 14 December 2002 in Port Harcourt, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known for an energetic blend of Afrobeats, Afropop and contemporary fusion. He is originally from Benue State and grew up in a close Christian family as the middle child of three siblings. His early interest in music began in school, where he sang, rapped and learned to play the drums. With strong encouragement from his mother, he developed confidence as a performer and later went on to study Mass Communication before choosing to focus fully on music.
He introduced himself to the wider Nigerian audience in 2023 with Koma, a vibrant single that highlighted his rhythmic delivery and upbeat approach to songwriting. Shortly after, he released his debut EP Prezz Play, a five track project that showcased his vocal range and his ability to move comfortably between Afrobeats, R and B influenced melodies and youthful dance rhythms. The EP captured themes of identity, emotion and self expression, helping him build a dedicated following known as The Pride.
As his profile continued to rise, Pawzz gained attention as one of the new voices shaping modern Nigerian pop with a lively, colourful sound and a strong sense of individuality. He remains active in the music scene, experimenting with different styles while maintaining the playful energy that defines his work.
