OFM

OFM is one of South Africa’s leading commercial radio stations. It broadcasts from Bloemfontein, Potchefstroom and Vanderbijlpark. The regional radio station with the second biggest footprint in the country, OFM broadcasts to the greater Free State, parts of North West, Northern Cape and southern Gauteng.

OFM was originally a split of Radio Hoëveld, broadcasting only four hours a day in the evenings under the name Radio Oranje (after the Orange Free State, its home province) from 1 July 1985. It was privatised in 1996 after the South African Broadcasting Corporation decided to sell off its commercial regional stations. Its current owners are African Media Entertainment (75.1%) and Kagiso Media (24.9%). The station offers adult contemporary music interspersed with news and views from the station's team of on-air personalities.
