A vibrant music training facility with dedicated and highly-qualified staff, providing tertiary music instruction from diploma to doctoral level. The School of Music & Conservatory at North-West University offers exceptional instruction in western classical music, jazz and African music. Our programmes offer students the opportunity to engage in music performance, music education, research and music technology. Our performing ensembles include our newly established university wind ensemble, string ensemble, choir, marimba and jazz ensemble. Students also have the opportunity to participate in small chamber ensembles. Our music technology lab is equipped with some of the latest cutting edge hardware and software, including the industry standard Pro Tools. In addition to our performing ensembles, students have the opportunity to develop their compositional, research and music education skills within our various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, including masters and doctoral studies. Our staff is comprised of world class performers, educators and researchers, all committed to providing our students with the best possible education and training as they embark on their careers.
