Nozipho Ntsele
Bio
Nozipho Ntsele hailing from Thokoza the Ekurhuleni township in the east rand of Gauteng, she describes herself as a husky voiced singer, the South African singer decided back in 1999 that the arts and specifically music and singing is going to be her career. This decision led Nozipho to vigorously take part in anything and everything music, this included taking part in musical projects and talent searches, the musical projects include, in 2002 Nozipho’s footprint in the music industry was being formed, here she was chosen to be part of a group of youths who would record and perform the theme music for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the summit was held in Johannesburg that year. The talent searches she took part in include talent shows such as Jam Alley and CocaCola Pop Starts 2004. In the CocaCola Pop Star search she reached top 60 in the competition.
In the course of her career, Nozipho has worked with notable artists, and had some noteworthy features, this includes, featuring on Kruna’s hit single “kancane kancane”. She was on the track “Ngiyamfuna” by Akwatta Kamp’s Bozza. She was on Dj Whiskey’s “Just Dance”. Nozipho was the backing vocalist for Afro Soul songstresses Male. With her debut album produced by Fundile Mgidi, the album received the industry nod on the SAMA23 list of nominations for Best African Adult Album, the album also received international recognition by being nominated as the AFRIMA (All Africa Music Awards), in this category at AFRIMA, she was nominated amongst South African music giants such as, Mfikizolo, Thandiswa Mazwai and AKA to name a few.
People can relate to the truth with which she tells her story on every song. “I have always dreamt of having my own albums, and having worked with the artists I had worked with, it was indeed a good platform that gave me the experience to explore different stages in music, sharpened my versatility and I'm grateful to my brothers for giving me that opportunity. Working with Maleh also has been a real blessing and an honour that broadened my view of the music industry, It gave me a better understanding of live performance, a better understanding of my voice, and built my confidence as a vocalist.”
