Bio

Born and raised in Churchill’s town in The Gambia, Famara Sambou, best known by his stage name Nova is an RnB artist and a music producer whose music career began in early 2007. He hit the music scene with a single called ‘Big Belly Man’. The song was number one on many radio shows in the country. A month later he released another single titled ‘Best Friend’.

As a producer, he has produced his own music and for other Gambian artists from home and abroad. He is the producer and chief executive officer of Ghetto Boy Music.

In 2010, he released a song called ‘My Dad My Hero’, a dedication to all the fathers. That same year he released his debut album called ‘Why Not Gambian’.

In 2011, he produced and released a lineup called ‘Da Ladies Rhythm’ which featured 16 top Gambian artists. The song broke through the local music scene and reportedly became the most played track since 2011 to date (April 2016).

He has also produced some of the following songs ‘Da Gentlemen Rhythm’, ‘Da Upcoming Rhythm’ and ‘Da Ladies Rhythm VOL 2’ (released mid June 2015). In 2015, he won the Most Requested Artist of The Year category. Some of his popular songs are ‘Give Me Your Blessing Mum and Dad’, ‘My Dad My Hero’, ‘Big Belly Men’, ‘Cry No More’ and ‘Dear Mama’.
