Nkomba

Nkomba is a contemporary African folk band from Malawi. Their music is a mixture of folk songs and African roots music. They sing in English and Chichewa languages. They are led by Ron Nkomba, a guitar, mandolin and harmonica player. Other members include George Wilson, Charlie Payne and Armeet Panesar. The band's compositions reflect Ron's upbringing. He grew up in both Europe and Africa. Some of the band's songs reflect on the plight of women in the country.

Nkomba is regular performer at Lake of Stars Festival. They have held various gigs in Egypt, Africa and Europe. They have done collaborations with musicians such as Niki Muller, Micha Lage, Patrick Ziegler, Ernest Ikwanga, Jizammy Lingani and Sam Mkandawire.

Ron Nkomba is a University of Cape Town graduate. He is a holder of a BArch degree.
