Bio

Ruth Ndeto (Artist Name: Njambii) is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, dancer, vocalist, percussionist, and visual documentarian from Kenya, based in Germany. She blends artistry, research, and technology to preserve, promote, and share African musical and cultural heritage.

Njambii collaborates with communities in Kenya and Tanzania, working closely with the Hukwe Zawose Foundation on archival projects documenting the music, dance, and traditions of the East African Communities like the Wagogo, Wapogoro, and Wasambara communities. She co-authors projects exploring traditional repertoires and instruments, engages in sustainability initiatives supporting traditional instrument preservation, and produces literary and visual works that capture African cultural practices.

As a performer, she has toured Europe as a backing vocalist, percussionist, and dancer with Msafiri Zawose, and performed with the foundation’s collective musicians.

Alongside her creative work, Njambii is a software professional specializing in QA and development, applying technical skills to enhance documentation, archiving, and multimedia projects. By merging art, performance, research, and technology, she contributes to keeping African musical and cultural traditions alive for contemporary and future audiences.
