Neuro.mantic
Bio
Neuro.mantic, born Katlego Norman Matloha, is a 21-year-old South African music producer and recording artist whose sound resists easy categorisation, blending pop, hip hop, jazz, R&B, rap, trap and soul into a fluid, introspective style. His work is defined by emotional depth, genre versatility and a commitment to sonic exploration.
His musical journey began in high school as part of a technical team managing sound equipment at school events. This early exposure sparked a deeper curiosity for music creation. What started as beatboxing and informal performances gradually evolved into a disciplined practice of lyric writing, poetry and composition. Influenced by a wide range of artists, he began recording over type beats, shaping his identity as a self-driven creator.
In 2024, he introduced himself under the name G33.F3NDi_WW, sharing unreleased material within close circles. During this time, he collaborated with dawgVille, a creative partnership that would play a role in his early development. Later that year, under Demonz in the Backseat Records, he officially debuted with the single SOLACE.
He soon rebranded as Neuro.mantic, aligning his identity with his evolving sound. Releases such as You Don’t Know, FLY featuring dawgVille, and HAZE showcased his ability to move across pop, R&B and trap influences.
In 2025, he released the EP To Live Is To Believe, followed by the mixtape No Idea, a nine-track project that expanded his narrative and experimental approach. The mixtape featured a music video shot by dawgVille via Demonz in the Backseat films. In 2026, he released Momento Mori, a conceptual body of work reflecting on human desire and mortality. His first live performance took place in February 2026 alongside dawgVille on Grow Together., a collaboration track on dawgVille's EP titled Sunset City.
On 24 April 2026, he released Ataraxia, a defining work that captures his artistic growth and evolving perspective.
With a foundation rooted in both technical understanding and creative expression, Neuro.mantic continues to position himself as a boundary-pushing artist within the contemporary African music landscape.
