Londiwe Ziphora Portia Sithole, affectionately known as Ndie, was born and raised in Ladysmith, South Africa, a region rich in cultural heritage. From a young age, she displayed an extraordinary affinity for music. Her journey began at Sakhelwe High School, where she nurtured her musical talent as the lead singer of the school choir.
It was during this formative period that Ndie was discovered by the renowned gospel group, Rose's of God, marking the beginning of her professional music career.
In her relentless pursuit of musical excellence, Ndie released her debut album titled Thuma Mina. The album, which showcased her unique voice and passion for gospel music, featured a collaboration with Smangele Shabalala. This debut not only established her as a rising star in the gospel music scene but also opened doors to numerous opportunities.
Ndie's exceptional talents shone in various municipal competitions held in Ladysmith, where she consistently excelled and was awarded numerous trophies. Her skills as a performer and MC (Master of Ceremony) were highly sought after for different municipal functions, where she captivated audiences with her charm and stage presence.
Ndie's musical journey has been marked by memorable performances, including sharing the stage with popular musicians such as Thobekile, Babo, and Sgwili at the Ukhozi Radio show called Nyusi Volume. She also performed at major events like the 150 Maskandi Show and the prestigious Ladysmith July, which celebrated renowned artists like Cici.
Her collaborations extended to performing alongside Maskandi giants such as Thokozane Langa, Abanqobi, Avante, and the late Mtshengiseni, further solidifying her presence in the traditional music scene.
Transitioning from gospel to traditional Maskandi music, Ndie has continually evolved as an artist. In early 2024, she released an EP titled Mama Ngisazam, which has been met with widespread acclaim. Her recent hit song, 'Ngilunge Kabi 2025', has further cemented her reputation and is being regularly aired on stations like Ukhozi FM, Jozi FM, and others.
Through events such as the Indumezulu Maskandi Festival, Maskandi Vibes Festival, and Ladysmith Show, Ndie has contributed significantly to the cultural landscape, inspiring countless aspiring musicians with her journey and achievements.
