Naeto C

Bio

Real name Naetochukwu Chikwe, was born on December 17 1982, in Houston, Texas, USA. He spent most of his childhood years in London, UK and Enugu, Nigeria.

He studied Biology at the State University of New York and George Washington University, both in the USA and whilst a student, he started writing Poetry. Whilst there, he met Nigerian Rappers Uzikwendu and Ikechukwu, with whom he formed a Rap trio- "World Famous Akademy".

The trio recorded 40-50 songs, after which Naeto returned to Nigeria, post-graduation in 2006, with Ikechukwu. Before this the trio had been signed to Obi Asika's Storm 360 label (Obi was Naeto C's older cousin).

Naeto C's debut album "You know my P" was released in 2007, becoming one of the biggest-selling Hip-Hop albums in Nigerian Music History. Off the back of this, he was to pursue a parallel path as a Producer, via his own Production outfit ET-Quake, with VC Perez and TY Mix as partners. He also collaborated with South African legend Hugh Masekela on a single "I believe". He was to produce other Storm artistes like GT Da Guitarman, Darey Art-Alade and Sasha P.

He released two other critically acclaimed albums "Sitting on top" and "Super C Season", which drove his reputation to the stellar heights of African music. He has won several awards sonme of which are the HHWA best hip hop single 2009, Soundcity best male video 2009, Best new act at the MTV MAMA’s award 2008. He also won a Channel O Award for the Video of The Year, in South Africa for 2009. The Headies in 2010 and many others.
