Music Without Borders-Rwanda Youth Music

In cooperation with local artists and medical partner organization WE-ACTx for Hope, Musicians without Borders uses methods and expertise developed through years of working in conflict areas, to bring hope, healing and joy to hundreds of youth and children in Rwanda.

In addition, Musicians without Borders recruits local artists to teach singing and songwriting, making use of Rwandan cultural traditions to address the trauma of the genocide and conflict. Music therapy was included in the program as well in the beginning of September 2013.

With Rwanda Youth Music, Musicians without Borders aims to create a sustainable program that can be replicated as a model in other districts in Rwanda and neighboring countries. Rwanda Youth Music brings the healing power of music to thousands of vulnerable and marginalized children, youth, and women in Rwanda.

Together with local musicians and organizations, Rwanda youth Music delivers music leadership training, outreach programs, music therapy, and large music events for families.
