Hailing from a musical family, Dumezweni's journey began in 2005 as a Concertina player for his brother's band, Jabulani Africa. He soon forged his own path, launching a solo career in 2006 as a skilled guitar player and songwriter

With collaborations with top artists like Mbuzeni Mkhize, Mkhanyiselwa, and Thwasa Lekhansela, Mshikashika Wezintombi has solidified his position in the Maskandi scene. His 2018 debut album "626" set the stage for his success, followed by the hit single "Intsholongwane ye Corona" in 2020, which earned him widespread recognition and accolades, including the Cikoza Mkhumbane Heritage Annual Festival Best Performance Award.
