Bio
Ms Cosmo (Nonqaba Nozuko Rwaxa) is a dynamic South African DJ, radio personality, MC, and music producer from Soweto, Gauteng.
She graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a degree in BCom Finance and Investment Management. After graduating, she worked as a commercial property finance consultant. Her interest in music led her to enrol at FUSE Academy, an institution co-founded by DJ Zinhle, aiming toward training women to become DJs. This decision began her career in the music industry. She would later go on to perform at various events, including performing alongside major international artists, such as Kanye West, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, and Chance the Rapper during their South African tours. In 2012, she joined YFM as a YTKO DJ, doing weekly live mixes and became the first and only female DJ to join Channel O’s DJ music show, the Bassment. In 2013, she joined 5FM as a presenter for the weekly hip hop show The Stir Up.
Her career as an artist officially began in 2017 when she released her debut single “Connect”, featuring big-hitters such as Nasty C, Kwesta, and Rouge. The song was a hit and ranked No. 1 on 5FM. She has yet to release an album, but she has an impressive catalogue of singles, all featuring star-studded artists.
In July 2020, she launched her online podcast called "SHE Social Podcast", which promotes women in the arts industry from fashion to music and art. She has a list of nominations and awards won. In 2013, she won the award for Best Radio Show at the South African Hip Hop Awards. She won the award for Best Traffic Presenter at the 2017 Liberty Radio Awards.
She has solidified her name in the South African music and media industry as one of the most successful female DJs and artists.
