Mr. Bow is a Mozambican singer, songwriter, and producer, born Salvador Pedro Maiaze on April 30, 1982. He is well known for creating "jango music," a style that blends Afro-beat, R&B, zouk, and marrabenta. He is also the founder of his own label, Bawito Music. He launched a successful solo career with his debut album, Meu Sonho, in 2008, and has since released multiple award-winning albums. He won Most Popular Song from the Ngoma Mozambique Contest. Mr. Bow received a Mozambique music award for the song "Nitati-Dhaya" from his 2012 album Sina de Victoria. His album The King of Mozambique (2016) produced several popular tracks, including "Vida Boa" and "My Number One". He has collaborated with many artists in his music career. The Mozambican roots and upbringing of Mr. Bow are reflected in his music and also reflects the difficulties and victories of the Mozambican nation. Mr. Bow made a huge contribution to the African music landscape, and many upcoming African performers have been influenced by his style.
