Moses Akoh
Bio
Moses Akoh Oche (born 29 August 1989) is a Nigerian-born, Philippines-based gospel artist, songwriter, producer, and missionary pastor. He is the founder and president of the worship movement The Soaking Room, which has grown from a local ministry in the Philippines to an international platform for Christian worship. Known for blending gospel, contemporary, and rock music, Akoh’s ministry and artistry focus on creating intimate, transformative encounters with God through music.
Born in Idoma, Benue State, Nigeria, to Mr. Mike and Mrs. Mary John Akoh, Moses discovered his passion for music at an early age. Gifted with what many described as supernatural musical ability, he earned the nickname “Destiny Child” for his early spiritual and creative gifts. While initially pursuing a secular career in computer science at the University of Abuja, he felt a strong calling to ministry, leading him to leave the field and dedicate his life fully to music and pastoral work.
Before founding The Soaking Room, Moses Akoh honed his skills as part of the worship band One Heart One Sound, performing at church events and national gatherings. These experiences helped shape his distinctive style, which fuses African gospel rhythms with contemporary rock and worship melodies, appealing to diverse audiences while maintaining a spiritually immersive focus.
In the Philippines, Moses launched The Soaking Room, a worship movement centred on prayer, praise, and spiritual intimacy. The initiative quickly gained momentum, hosting live worship sessions, music recordings, and collaborative projects with other gospel ministers and pastors, including Apostle Femi Lazarus. Through this platform, Akoh has sought to inspire believers worldwide, using music as both ministry and mission.
Moses Akoh is married to Olaniyan Adebola Temitayo, who partners with him in his ministry and outreach programs. Together, they continue to serve communities and congregations across continents, using music, teaching, and pastoral guidance to nurture spiritual growth. Over the years, Akoh has released multiple recordings, combining heartfelt worship with high-quality production, and has built a reputation as one of the most innovative and dedicated Nigerian gospel artists of his generation.
With a career spanning multiple countries, Moses Akoh has become a symbol of faith-driven artistry, demonstrating how gospel music can transcend borders, cultures, and languages, while maintaining its central mission of glorifying God and inspiring intimacy with Him.
