The event is organised by the Bathoen II Dam Nature Sanctuary Management Trust, held in Kanye, South East Botswana and continues to grow in leaps and bounds under the stewardship of the Village elders and youth. Almost everything on display during the day has Ngwaketse significance and influence. It has successfully attracted the attention of people outside Kanye, therefore placing itself as one of the most celebrated cultural events in Botswana calendar. The festival has enjoyed a significant media pre – post coverage since its inception, therefore succeeding in educating the public and raising awareness on the event.
