Bio

Born 9 June 1993, Mic-Dee (real name Michael Banda) is a Zambian rapper from Lusaka. His music career began in 2010 when he was 17 years old. He is signed to Chaos Music, a small record label based in Lusaka where he recorded his debut single titled ‘Sinfola’. This was followed by the release of a few singles and he also featured on more than nine songs.

In 2013, he left Deep Side Records and met Skillz, an audio producer, owner and founder of Phat Jam Records. This saw him recording a song titled ‘Tulamemengela’ featuring DJ Fireman. He later joined Bang Bang Muzik Ent and released a song titled ‘Ka Ndeo’. The track was well-received and earned collaborations. His music earned him so much popularity thus he decided to establish his own record label called GNX Music. This was followed by the solo compilation of an EP called ‘The Hustle’ (2014). The EP got him a record label deal with Phat Jam Records which he later.

Songs such as ‘Bobby-East’ (Headlines), ‘Slapdee’(Understatement), ‘For Your Love’ featuring Ab Crazy and ‘10 to 10’ heightened his profile in the country’s music scene.
