Bio

Bongani Emmanuel Ndlovu, professionally known as Mexican Candy, is a South African rapper whose journey in music reflects passion, consistency, and grassroots beginnings. Born and raised on Goldberg Farm, situated between Kriel and Bethal, Mexican Candy’s early life in the rural heart of Mpumalanga played a significant role in shaping his identity and sound.

He began his educational journey at Enkundleni Combined School before completing his matric at Emzinoni High School. It was during his early teenage years, at just 13 years old, that his love for music took root. Alongside his cousin, Sphelele Sunday Mngomezulu, also known as General Gee, Mexican Candy began exploring rap an artistic path he has remained committed to ever since.

In 2010, his dedication to music began to gain recognition when he received a nomination for the Rise Award, marking an important milestone in his career. His growing presence in the industry has also been highlighted through features in the Rise Africans newspaper on two occasions, further cementing his reputation as a rising voice in South African hip-hop.

Behind his continued growth is the support of his hardworking and dedicated manager, Mr Phuti Ramaphakela, whose guidance has contributed to shaping Mexican Candy’s professional journey.

Today, Mexican Candy’s music is widely accessible across major digital streaming platforms, including Deezer, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, TikTok Music, Apple Music, and Shazam. With an unwavering commitment to his craft, he continues to build his brand and share his story through music.
