Melody Ngwazi
Bio
Melody Ngwazi stage name as Melody is a South African vocalist celebrated for her soulful fusion of African music, jazz, and Afro-pop. Known for her powerful voice and authentic storytelling, she continues to captivate audiences with a rich sound rooted in African identity and contemporary expression.
Her musical journey began in church, where she developed a strong vocal foundation before joining gospel groups such as Peace Lovers and Ukunqoba Kwenkosi. Over time, she evolved into a seasoned performer, appearing on prestigious stages locally and internationally, including the United Nations Conference in New York, Harvard University, FIFA World Cup Fan Parks (2010), and a special invitation to perform in London.
In 2012, she released her debut album Izizwe, produced by Malcolm Nhleko, marking her transition into a solo artist. She later released the single Mazibuye Lezonkomo featuring Zulu Boy in 2018.
Melody is currently active in new creative collaborations and live performances. She recently performed at the 2026 Kwande Festival in Durban as part of the Sounds of The Streets showcase. This forms part of a collaborative four-track EP titled Sounds of The Streets, produced by KUMISA programme participants, where artist managers and musicians partnered to develop and showcase emerging urban African sounds. The project is scheduled for release in April.
Alongside this collaboration, Melody is also preparing her own solo EP, set for release in November 2026, marking a new chapter in her artistic journey under Oshaba Entertainment.
Beyond music, she is a creative entrepreneur and community contributor, actively involved in social development initiatives through Giant Heart NPO.
With a strong performance background and a renewed creative direction, Melody Ngwazi is positioning herself for international growth, bringing a powerful and authentic African voice to global audiences.
