Mbiravolution

Mbiravolution is an online community of mbira players, researchers, makers and lovers of mbira. The thrust of the platform is to enhance the mbira instrument and music. Dub named Mbiravolution (Mbira+ rEvolution = Mbiravolution), the online village develops, protects and preserves the mbira music and instrument.

It is a space that can be used to serve the best interest of mbira. Founded in 2012, the community has meaningfully contributed towards assisting in the exchange of knowledge, skills and ideas about Mbira. This has been made possible through a number of programs done in the form of concerts, public discussion platforms, mbira workshops, archiving and mbira exhibition. This was done in an effort to preserve the traditional mbira spaces and also creating new spaces for the beautiful instrument.
