Makayy

Makayy is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and a live performer, born and bred in Ghana, who focuses on music that feels cinematic and transcending.

She studied music at Achimota Senior high school in Ghana and was awarded the overall best final year music student in the year 2019.

Music has always been a part of her life and journey whether it being playing an instrument or singing. Inspired by artists like Baaba J, Rema, Billie Eilish, Kubolor, John Mayer, and Doja Cat, she’s crafting a distinctive sonic universe that feels fresh and deeply expressive.

At the 2025 Make Music festival in Ghana, she performed her upcoming song ‘My Proposal to You’ for the first time. She has also done multiple open mics and live performances both at Riaboss open mic and Zen Gardens acoustic Monday night and many others.

Makayy will be set to drop her first single in August titled ‘CANDY’, an Afrobeats track that electrify the body and soul.
