Lyton Namubiru

Bio

Lyton has two songs out, the latest of the many she has done. They are enjoying good airplay and one of them, the one that seems to be closest to her heart is 'Mutima'.The concept for 'Mutima' came to her one day after a tiff with her boyfriend. It was raining outside and she was lying on her bed thinking.

Back in 2001, she had been with the Bakayimbira Dramactors drama group for three years when she realised that she had it in herself to produce such beautiful music. She had tried out her luck doing Karaoke at difference places in town and she had got compliments but to go into studio was another thing for her, seeing as she never went out to consciously make music her career. In fact, she had different dreams altogether. She wanted to be an actress.

She went to Narambhai primary school and then to St. James Senior Secondary School in Jinja. She then moved to Kampala briefly but when her dad passed on when she was thirteen, she moved back to Jinja where she was till her S.6 finals.

She joined Bakayimbira in her vacation, a group that has natured her till now. That exposure was good enough to give her the impetus to move on into TV. Her first stint in TV was with Centre 4, the health drama in which she acted as the nurse.

In December 2003, she auditioned for the Rwanda genocide movie, 'Sometime in April', which was launched in January 2004.
