Bio
Florence Nyamazana*, widely known as *Lioness Shumbakadzi* in the vibrant music cycles of Zimbabwe. As a traditional mbira musician and cultural custodian, who had dedicated her passion to preserving and promoting the rich musical Zimbabwean heritage. Originally hailing from the remote areas of Gokwe, where the mbira is an integral part of community celebrations—both somber and joyous—she has now establishedher base in Norton, Mashonaland West Province. Her journey is not just about music ,it’s about representing and empowering women through the art form that is deeply rooted in our culture.

Her role as the *Vice President of the Chivavarira National Mbira Music Arts and Culture Association* is a historic achievement, marking a significant step for women in a field traditionally dominated by men. Leading a group of mbira gurus and cultural custodians, She aims to inspire other women to take on leadership roles within the arts.
