Linah “Ebony” Ngcobo: From Pop Diva to Spiritual Leader
Linah Ngcobo, famously known as Ebony and also by her birth name Linah Khama, is a South African music legend whose career spans singing, entrepreneurship, and spiritual leadership. Her journey reflects talent, resilience, and reinvention, making her one of the country’s most influential female artists.
From Backing Vocalist to Pop Icon
Ngcobo began her career as a backing vocalist for some of South Africa’s most prominent musicians, gaining invaluable experience on stage and in the studio. In the 1980s, she broke out as a solo artist under the stage name Ebony, delivering infectious pop hits and commanding live performances that earned her the reputation of a “pop diva.” Her electrifying tours captured the hearts of audiences nationwide.
