Lapaix Born Kagiso Charles Mayisela, this talented individual is a singer, songwriter, and musical producer with a passion that knows no bounds.
Growing up, Lapaix's love affair with music began in the church choir, where he discovered his gift and nurtured it. Sundays were a treat, with his parents' jazz playlists sparking a deep connection with the genre. The young Lapaix was captivated by the soulful voices of Lionel Richie and Brook Benton, and he would often find himself imitating their iconic sounds.
As he honed his craft, Lapaix joined community art groups, refining his skills and exploring his creativity. His breakthrough came when he was recognized on social media, leading to roles in musicals like Angola the Musical Extravaganza and Idungamuzi. These experiences deepened his connection to the arts, inspiring him to enroll in theatre and music programs at the South African State Theatre, Market Theatre, and a three-year program at Tx Theatre.
Lapaix's big break came with his production "Uthwalo," which earned him the Best Production award at the Zwakala Festival and Zero to Hero Theatre Festival. This success paved the way for musical production and songwriting opportunities, culminating in the release of his debut single "Isililo" under Objective Records in Johannesburg.
With a growing reputation, Lapaix has shared stages with music heavyweights like Aymos, Sjava, and Nonhlanhla Dube. His captivating storytelling and soulful voice have also led to overseas contracts, including a six-month stint with Remarc Sunsea Fun, where he's performed covers of legendary songs.
As Lapaix continues to soar, his unique sound and unwavering dedication to his craft have solidified his position as a rising star in the music industry.
