Bio
Mwajuma Salumu is widely recognised as the Lau nation. She is a versatile artist proficient in singing, songwriting, and dancing within the Singeli music genre. She was born and raised in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with a father who is Kenyan by origin from the Jaluo tribe and a Tanzanian mother of the Zaramo tribe, and she started embarking on her musical journey in 2020 as a solo artist in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Lau Nation managed to release a couple of tracks, including 'Modo,' 'Bado Kolo,' and ''Chizi,' and others, including "Koroboi," on which she collaborated with D-Voice (a newly signed artist of Wasafi Music Label), and allowed her to perform at major music festivals, including MZIKI MNENE 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Also, she used to perform in SINGELI FESTI 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024; KOMAA CONCERT 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024; WIKIENDI LIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024 and SAMIA SERENGETI FESTIVAL in 2025.
Her current new tracks are 'Nife na Wewe' and 'Mwali Gani,' which were released in 2024, and also "Naipenda Tanzania'' and Njiwa," which were released in 2025.
Lau Nation is an artist member of Home of the World a local talent centre located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, that aims to provide a foremost platform for local artists, youth, and women to flourish in artistic and creative pursuits and finally embrace the complete spectrum of the entertainment industry.
