Lady Du, born Duduzile Nqambi in 1985 in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is a prominent vocalist and songwriter in the South African music industry, best known for her contributions to the Amapiano and house music genres. Growing up in a musically inclined environment, Lady Du developed her passion for singing at an early age, participating in church choirs and local talent competitions. Her early exposure to gospel and traditional Zulu music helped shape her distinct vocal style, blending soulful melodies with contemporary rhythms.

Lady Du’s professional music career gained momentum in the mid-2010s when she began collaborating with notable South African DJs and producers, most prominently in the Amapiano genre. Her breakthrough came with the hit single “Shesha,” a collaboration with DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, which earned her national recognition and cemented her status as a leading female voice in the genre.
