L - Shabang

Thato Shabangu, commonly known as ‘L – Shabang’ was born in 1994/05/24 in Pretoria. He was raised by a single mother in Bronkhorstspruit far east of Pretoria, where he currently resides.
The stage name ‘L – Shabang’ is derived from his surname Shabangu, and the ‘L’ is short for Lord, which puts an emphasis on his high level of lyricism.
His primary & high schooling was completed in 2008 and 2013 respectively. He further went on to complete a Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship in 2016.
L – Shabang hosted cyphers and rap battles back in high school which ultimately became the spark that made him realise that he could pursue a career as a musician.
His music style is delightful, story-telling and conscious while ensuring there is an element of vibe and dance to his sound.
He is a young, inspired, innovative black South African artist with a great sense of purpose that serves beyond music. His mission is mainly to inspire, change lives and transform minds through music.
L – Shabang is praised for his social consciousness and applauded for his great musical content – The best lyricist of age.
To date, he has released a 12 track album, 5 singles and has been featured by various artists.
