Bio

KWIZERA SHAMI Nehemie is a Rwandan Pianist, keyboardist, arranger and session player. He had his formal classical music studies at age eight by Marlene Lee and was taken under Pastor Aimable NSABAYESU’s wing as his mentor at Oakdale Kigali Music School. He later attended masterclasses with German piano virtuoso Martin HELMCHEN. In 2015, he moved to China, where he shared the stage with a lot of Beijing's great musicians and performed in festivals across the country, like the Beijing Burger Festival, Xianyang Music Festival, Yinchuan Music Festival, and Shanxi Music Festival, to name a few. He has worked professionally as a keyboardist in many styles, including classical, rock, blues, Black Gospel, R&B, neo-soul, Latin Jazz, Salsa, Bachata, Kumbia, Merengue, and Chinese Folk music either as a side-man or bandleader.  He’s the founder of Black Gold Afro-fusion band; a member of China’s best Reggae band “One Drop”; the blues band “Toxic Mix”, “Timeout” -the Caribbean jazz band that features Grenada's traditional music instrument-the steel pan, Latin Jazz quartet “the Alley Cats”, the famous Latin band “Savor Latino” and the co-founder of the “KWIZERA Jawn” a jazz fusion band. 
Shami has been active in the Rwandan music scene through masterclasses, studio sessions, and live recordings of Rwanda's many prolific gospel artists, Namely Israel Mbonyi, James & Daniella, Papy Clever & Dorcas and the numerous gospel ministries. He is currently the piano and keyboard senior instructor at Rwanda School of Creative Arts and Music training Rwanda’s new generation of musician. 
Despite being well-versed in music, he is an electrical engineer and holds a master's degree in renewable energy and clean power.
