Krymi
Bio
Krymi, born Henry Nuamah, is a Ghanaian Afrobeats and Highlife singer celebrated for his smooth vocals, emotive songwriting, and ability to bridge traditional Ghanaian sounds with contemporary Afro-pop. Emerging from Ghana’s vibrant music ecosystem, Krymi has built a reputation as an artist whose music speaks deeply to love, reflection, and lived experience.
Krymi first gained national attention after participating in MTN Hitmaker, a platform that introduced him to a wider audience and set the foundation for his professional career. His journey took a decisive turn when he was signed by renowned producer Kaywa under Highly Spiritual Music, a period that marked his transition from promising talent to mainstream contender. During this phase, he released some of his most recognisable songs, including “Dede,” “Toffee,” “Soronko,” and “Dw3,” tracks that earned him consistent radio play and solidified his presence in Ghana’s Afrobeats and Highlife space.
Known for his rich, velvety voice, Krymi’s music blends Highlife’s melodic warmth with modern Afrobeats rhythms, creating songs that resonate across generations. His collaborations, including work with artists like Darkovibes, further showcased his versatility and appeal beyond traditional genre boundaries. In 2019, his growing influence was formally recognised when he won Uncover Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards UK, affirming his rising profile on the international stage.
Beyond the music, Krymi has become an outspoken voice on industry realities. He has publicly criticised the culture of “gatekeeping” within the music industry, arguing that talent is divinely given and should not be controlled by individuals who did not create it. At the same time, he acknowledges the existence of industry systems, encouraging young musicians to balance talent with business knowledge, branding, strong teams, and consistency.
In recent years, Krymi has embraced independence following the end of his contract with Highly Spiritual Music. Now based in the United Kingdom, he describes this chapter as a period of growth — likening it to completing an apprenticeship and stepping into self-mastery. Since then, he has expanded his skill set, including learning music production, while continuing to release new work such as “Aso Wodem.”
In late 2025, Krymi entered a new personal chapter after tying the knot in a private wedding ceremony in the UK, attended by close family and friends. The intimate celebration reflected his desire to keep sacred moments away from public spectacle — a choice that resonated with fans, especially given his long-standing focus on love and emotional authenticity in music.
As Krymi continues to evolve artistically and personally, he remains a compelling figure in Ghanaian music — grounded in tradition, shaped by experience, and steadily crafting a future on his own terms.
