Kristy Diamond
Bio
Kristy Diamond is a Congolese musician, singer, songwriter, dancer and producer from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Born Christelle Dionge, she began singing in a church choir at a young age and later joined the gospel group Gospel Paradis Music, where her talent and stage presence started to gain wider recognition.
In 2006 she relocated to France, where she stepped back from music for several years to focus on family life. She returned to the industry in the late 2010s and released her debut studio album Tshueke Tshueke in 2018. The album blends Congolese rumba with reggaeton, zumba and Afrobeats, and includes socially conscious songs that reflect on life in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Kristy Diamond has since released several singles and collaborative projects, including music responding to contemporary social issues and pan African initiatives. In 2020 she received the Best Up and Coming Female Artist award at the HAPAwards.
Her work is known for fusing traditional Congolese rhythms with modern global sounds, and she continues to build a career that bridges African musical heritage and contemporary popular music.
