Lius Baruch & Amadou Bansa Cissokho
Lius Baruch and Amadou Bansa Cissokho are a dynamic duo bridging continents and traditions through music.
Lius Baruch, originally from northern Brazil and now based in Oslo, Norway, is a Norwegian Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist known for his innovative blending of Brazilian rhythms with global influences. With performances in over 10 countries, his music is both deeply rooted and forward-looking.
Amadou Bansa Cissokho, a kora player, maker, and teacher from Dakar, Senegal, carries the rich musical legacy of his Gambian heritage. A master of the 21-string West African harp, his playing is a reflection of centuries-old griot traditions, combined with his own creative voice.
The two artists met in Dakar in 2025 and immediately connected through a shared love of rhythm, tradition, and improvisation. Their collaboration fuses traditional West African music with the vibrant energy of Brazilian percussion—creating a sound that is at once ancestral and contemporary.
Their first live performance takes place in Dakar on June 25, 2025, at Loman Art House, marking the beginning of a powerful new musical journey ahead of their European tour in 2026.
