King SA (born Phenyo Kingsley Louw), is a South African Hip Hop artist born in 1990 in Magojaneng Village (also known as Magobing Village) in Kuruman, Northern Cape. He is an ambitious, talented, and hardworking artist whose music is rooted in motivation, resilience, and real-life storytelling.
KING SA made his official entrance into the music industry with his debut project titled **“The First Footprint EP”** in 2021. The project was well received by fans and marked the beginning of his rising presence in the South African Hip Hop scene. In the same year, he earned a nomination for **Best Newcomer** at the **City Awards (011)**, a strong recognition of his impact as a fresh voice in the industry.
His momentum continued as *The First Footprint EP* was also nominated at the **Mzansi Arts and Media Awards 2021**, where KING SA won the award for **Best Hip Hop Artist in the Northern Cape**. This achievement solidified his position as one of the province’s standout artists. In 2022, he was once again nominated for **Best Hip Hop Artist** at the **Mzansi Arts and Media Awards**, confirming his consistency and growing influence.
Beyond awards, KING SA has expanded his reach through multiple radio interviews, including features on **Kurara FM** and **Diepkloof Radio**. His work has also been highlighted in publications such as **Mbono Magazine** and the **Daily Sun**, exposing his artistry to a wider audience.
