King Her
Bio
KING HER is the stage name of Natsumi Miyata, a Zimbabwean DJ, music producer, and media personality renowned for her electrifying Afro/Electro/Dancehall/Trap sound. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and of Zimbabwean–Japanese heritage, KING HER has emerged as one of the most influential female DJs in the country, celebrated for her ability to fuse global electronic music with African rhythms while proudly amplifying Zimbabwean sounds on international platforms.
Her creative journey began at an early age through the fine arts. Excelling in painting and visual expression, she went on to complete a Diploma in Multimedia and Graphic Design, laying the foundation for her multidisciplinary career. Alongside visual art, she explored modern dance and developed a deep passion for music, which ultimately led her to DJing and music production. This artistic path was strengthened by her professional background in Quality Assurance Auditing within the pharmaceutical industry, as well as experience in marketing, sales, and social media strategy, contributing to the development of a strong, self-managed personal brand.
As an open-format DJ, KING HER is known for her high-energy sets that seamlessly blend EDM, Afro, Dancehall, Trap, and Electro influences. Her dynamic performances have earned her recognition as one of Zimbabwe’s top-tier DJs, with appearances at major events such as Victoria Falls Carnival, HIFA (Harare International Festival of Arts), Shoko Festival, Jacaranda Festival, Feels Festival, and Cookout Festival Zimbabwe. In 2015, her rise gained international momentum when her mixes charted in the Top 5 of Mixcloud’s Electronica Charts, while her “Slayed Selections” and “X-Files” mixes received airplay across 16 South African gyms nationwide.
Beyond the decks, KING HER has built a formidable presence in broadcast media. She has worked as a radio DJ on CapitalK FM, appeared on ZiFM and Star FM, and served as a TV presenter and co-producer for Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN) shows such as C’est la Vie and Ingoma Backstage Pass, engaging with both local and international artists. In 2016, she became a brand ambassador for Qualito Craft Distilled Vodka, and in 2017 launched the KING HER Store, further expanding her entrepreneurial footprint.
Committed to community development, KING HER has mentored young aspiring DJs and facilitated workshops for children and youth, including programmes at HIFA in partnership with Nash Paints and the United Nations Zimbabwe. She has also supported multiple charitable initiatives across the country.
Today, KING HER stands as Zimbabwe’s leading female club DJ, a cultural force bridging continents, disciplines, and generations through sound, design, and storytelling.
