Khuzani
Bio
Popularly known as Khuzani,Khuzani Nkosikhona Innocent Mpungose, is a South African Maskandi singer-songwriter and guitarist from Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal. Born on 3 December 1989, he began his professional music career around 2010 and quickly established himself as a leading figure in contemporary Maskandi music.
He released his debut solo album Bahluleke Bonke in 2011 and has since released several successful albums, including Isixaxa Samaxoki (2017) and Angidlali Nezingane (2024), the latter topping South Africa’s Apple Music All-Genre Album Chart. His 2020 single Ijele was voted Song of the Year by Ukhozi FM listeners.
Khuzani is celebrated for blending traditional Zulu Maskandi sounds with modern appeal, and his loyal fanbase, the “Blue Nation,” reflects his status as both a cultural icon and a bridge between Maskandi heritage and contemporary South African music.
