K2 The Rapson

Kgothatso Maseko, popularly known as K2 The Rapson, is a trailblazing South African hip hop artist who has achieved remarkable milestones in an impressively short span of time. Signed under the fast-rising label Cwell Music & Media in January 2024, K2 has quickly solidified his place as a unique force in the music industry.

What sets K2 apart is his electrifying performances with his very own 4-piece live band, bringing a fresh, professional edge to his sound and stage presence. His debut professional EP, "NXT LVL," released in 2024, showcases his versatility and knack for collaboration. The EP features hitmakers like Bongo Riot (renowned for the smash hit "Thetha Nami" featuring Zahara) on two standout tracks, as well as the enchanting vocalist Lucille Slade.

K2's music resonates across the airwaves, with tracks receiving airplay on Ukhozi FM, Metro FM, Umhlobo Wenene, and earning Top 10 spots on Motsweding FM and Jozi FM charts. In February 2024, K2 hosted an official EP launch in Melville, Johannesburg, attended by entertainment heavyweights from Channel O, Trace TV, SABC Radio, and celebrated artists.

A highlight of K2’s breakout year was his December 2024 performance at the Inside Art Sunday Soul Fest, where he was accompanied by a breathtaking 45-member orchestra, elevating his artistry to new heights.

K2 THE RAPSON NXT LVL

Between December 2024 and January 2025, K2 took his craft to Cape Town, conducting a successful masterclass and shooting the premier music video for his upcoming single "Chelete Moleko" featuring Gwijo Avenue (set for release on February 14, 2025). He also partnered with the Ithemba Youth Choir from Khayelitsha to produce an innovative acappella version of his hip hop hits in a National Arts Council-funded educational concert.
