Johannes Theurer


Johannes Theurer (1956) is an editor and presenter at Germany public service station Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB).

Theurer compiles the prestigious monthly World Music Charts Europe with 45 specialists in 24 European countries. In the European Broadcasting Union, he chairs the World Music Group and organises conferences and concerts. He started presenting his own regular World Music radio show in 1987.

Theurer also deals with the archiving and distribution of music from various cultures. He curates the multilingual music online catalogue that contributes to Europe’s digital heritage library EUROPEANA. Theurer also cooperates with UNHCR for music from refugees.

He is the co-founder of Radio Multikulti, which broadcasted music from various cultures in many languages. Theurer has been head of Radio Multikulti for 10 years.
