Jeremy Earth born Jeremia Modiga is an indie/Alternative artist born May 29th 1999 in South Africa. Jeremy spent a solid term of his childhood on a farm where the love for animals & nature grew on him. A curious & creative child with a loud mind & wide imagination. During his childhood years, he would run errands & visit places with his father who would play albums like City to city by Gerry Rafferty & Indispensable by Michael Franks which resulted to his love for music,more especially rock music that later in his life got him experimenting around that type of sound & other electronic musical elements .With his love for music & no production experience at all, all he had left was a creative mind & needed to start making his own music,in 2014 he started venturing into production playing around with music production softwares & an acoustic guitar, that’s when he started producing his own music, Finishing high-school in 2017 ,he took the following year in Damelin college for Sound Technology, the course was 3 years but he dropped out the second year because of high fees. His first year in college was a self discovery era in music for him, he started experimenting & going in a different direction, saving up lunch money everyday & finally buying studio equipment with it for himself, he officially started to record his own songs in his bedroom from 2019. The characteristics of his art consist of versatility, With his electric guitar, he delved deep into the alternative genres, dabbling in different styles within the experimental space of sound. His sound is mainly inspired by the music culture of the 60s/70s,80s & 90s. artists like Michael Franks, Gerry Rafferty, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, the 90s grunge movement & modern day artists like Mac Demarco, Toro y moi & countless indie alternative rock bands. He shares on random subject matters in his lyrics, direct & indirect focus of certain topics including existentialism, surrealism & mundane simplicity, on a sonic ground of production being a wide usage of distortion on guitar, synthesisers & psychedelic instrumentation. He draws his inspiration from his childhood driven imagination, his beliefs, his perceptions of life, human activity, films, art as a whole. His art communicates non conformity, peace, freedom, eye opening conspiracy research , realisation of what life can be on a grand scale (a life out of pattern or routine)
