Shariff Kabunga Justin Maphempeni, known professionally as Jay Torantino, is an emerging artist in the South African Hip-Hop scene. Born on 13 November 2003 in the Eastern Cape, he relocated to Johannesburg, Gauteng at a young age — a move that would later influence his musical journey.
Torantino’s deep-rooted love for music was nurtured by his mother, who introduced him to artists like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Drake, Michael Jackson, and Bruno Mars. This diverse musical exposure helped shape his unique sound and artistic identity.
