Bio
Jay Jody (Phologo Judah Solomon Mataboge) is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer. He was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on 1 July 1990.
Jay Jody is the older brother of the famous South African rapper A-Reece (Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge). He is also one-half of the South African musical group B3nchMarQ. From a young age, he has had an interest in music and entertainment. Over the years, he learnt how to produce and write lyrics. At the age of 17, he began professionally recording music.
His first solo project, "Sunset Stories A Mixtape," was released in December 2021, a heartfelt tribute to their late father. It was a collaborative album alongside his own brother, A-Reece. His latest project, as of the time of writing, is called Shine O Clock and was released in July of 2024.
In 2025, Jay Jody tied the knot with his partner Tshidi. The duo had a lobola ceremony on 18 January 2025 and a white wedding the same year.
