Bio

Jay C (real name Jean Claude Muhire) is one of the talented hip-hop artists to emerge out of Kigali, Rwanda. He was born on 25 November 1990 in Kanombe, Kigali. He got his stage name from his brother Fireman a member of a music group called Tuff Gangs. His career as a musician kicked-off in 2005 prior to joining Magic Boys music group. Other members included Bulldog and Fireman. The group didn’t last long, it split when other members joined the Tuff Gang.

Jay C began working as a solo artist and released his debut single ‘Isengesho Ry'igisambo’ (2010). Shortly afterwards, he collaborated with Green P on the song ‘Imanuka’. He did another duet with Bruce Melodie called ‘Sentiment’.

In May 2014, he released a new song called ‘Shitani’. The song condemned the cold blood murder of a young girl who was killed by a house helper. That same year in October, he premiered a video called ‘Nupfa Bazampambe’. The ‘Santima’ hit maker unleashed the new video as one of the projects that was bent on promoting his album to be launched later in 2015. In the same month, he dropped a new song dubbed ‘Sayizonga’. The song advises alcoholics to embrace the culture of saving money.
