Jah Hanief
Bio
Jah Hanief is a Zimbabwean D.J. based in the U.K. He is brother to D.J Sadiq. He is also an MC, selector, promoter and dancer,. His music career began in 1989 when he was six years of age. He was spotted by his primary school teacher who gave him the much-needed support. His first performance was in 1991 when he was eight, not as a singer but as a dancer. He got involved with reggae in the same year as he listened to radio 3fm with DJs like Munya Brown, Otis Freser, Dennis Wilson to name a few.
In 1994, he worked with music groups such as Backyard Ruff and Balck Scorpoion. He eventually started his professional career as a D.J. in 1997. After relocating to the U.K., he pursued his career and he performed at various high profile shows including one which featured the Jamaican reggae sensation Busy Signal.
He has also performed at various shows in Zimbabwe and abroad. He has todate recorded and released one album called ‘Madd Again’. The music project features songs such as ‘Shiver-Shiver Dance’, ‘Mi Nuh Know’, ‘Better Life’, ‘Zvazobatwa Manje’, ‘Machena’ and many more.
