Itai Madiz

Itai Madiz (real name Itai Madzikura) is an urban grooves, rhumba artist and music composer from Harare, Zimbabwe. He is one of the pioneers of the music music genre.

He started music in 1998 while attending high school in Gweru. Madiz started off as a gospel artist before he moved to rhumba music. He later co-founded a group called Joyful Repainters. In 1999, Madiz joined another group called the Returns where he was into choreography. He composed songs such as ‘Chimoko’, ‘Kupinda Newe’ and others. He later recorded an album with Sounds of Africa.
