Irmã Sofia (born Sofia Kumba Pemba Kuama on 2 February 1980) is a prominent Angolan gospel singer and pastor known for her significant impact on the African Christian music scene.
Early Life and Education:
- Background: Born in Damba, Uíge, Angola, she eventually moved to Luanda, where she was baptised at age 14 in the Baptist Evangelical Church in Angola.
- Musical Beginnings: Her musical journey began in the church, where she played instruments like the recorder, tambourine, and percussion.
- Medical Studies: In 2025, she completed a degree in Medicine at Lewiston Adult Education in the United States, showcasing her commitment to education alongside her ministry.
