Gully Teardrop
Bio
Gully Teardrop (Ashley Craig Maredi) is a Johannesburg-born Composer & Music Professional. A Master of Ceremony at best among other music skills known as a rapper, singer, songwriter, poet, and melodic storyteller. Raised in the East Rand, his music is a dual force—cool and charismatic (Gully), raw and emotionally honest (Teardrop). He named his debut EP July 5 after his birthday, marking the personal significance of this release: a rebirth, a statement, a step into the light.
From beatboxing cyphers in high school to freestyles in Gandhi Square, from Thembisa’s Kota Tours to Soweto’s Black Sundays, Gully has lived and breathed the culture—not from a distance, but from the very streets it was built on. He raps not just with skill, but with purpose.
With this being said Gully has evolved as an artist, incredible song writer, composer, and collaborator.
Having played around with different genres in I am looking forward to networking and acquanting with professionals in the music industry.
