Gina Mabasa

Gina Mabasa is an artist from South Africa.

Gina Mabasa’s talents rose to fame in 2013 when she became part of Team North West in the South African Choirs Show, Clash of the Choirs, mentored by legend himself Sipho Hotstix Mabuse. In the same year she worked on the Samsung S4 Launch with South African recording artists RJ Benjamin, AKA (Kiernan Forbes), Ayo Solanke, Neil and Itu Tshabane. She was also part of the South African Idols season 9, choir member. 2014, under talent experts Mr Paul Grootboom and Mr Aubrey Sekhabi, she joined ‘TTT’, where she formally and professionally had drama, dance and musical training broadening her career’s horizons. With much training and consistency she was casted in Marikana the musical and HUNGRY, both plays by Mr Aubrey Sekhabi. In 2015, she furthered her musical studies at the Vusi Mahlasela Foundation, focusing on music theory and instrument (bass guitar). Under Jonas Gwangwa, she was later that same year casted in a play, AMANDLA the musical. At the 2016 FNB Arts Fair, she performed a piece and another piece at the 2017 play Xova and Mother and Child by Joseph Komani. She was in a music and poetry group called Fat Black Women sing by Napo Mashiane. On the 14th season of the South African Idols, she auditioned and only made it till the top 31 (solo round). As an exceptional talent, Gina Mabasa knows all corners of her capabilities, knows that her dreams are valid and she will grace great stages.
