General Ozzy

Born David Banda, General Ozzy is one of Zambia’s most celebrated artists. His life as a musician dates back to 1996 when he was in high school. In December 2004, he released his maiden single called ‘Osalila’ under Sling Beats studio. The song did very well on the market and became an instant hit that topped many local radio chats around the country. The success of his single prompted him to work on his debut album called ‘The General’. The music project features hits such as’Chino Chalo’, ‘Making Me High’ and ‘Wenye’ featuring Kanji. The collaboration earned him a household name in the country’s music scene.

In 2006, he released his second album titled ‘General Eyes’. It features the ‘Nimusanga’ song which featured K’millian. The song is probably one of the best collaborations Zambia has seen thus far. It was followed by ‘The Trilogy’ album which featured a hit single called ‘Potential’. The song was voted song of the year for 2008 on The Radio Phoenix Local Rhythms Count Down sponsored by Zain.

In 2010, he launched his fourth album titled ‘Kobili’ meaning ‘Money’. It has tracks such as ‘Take My Heart’ and ‘I Need a Girl’. In 2014, he released his long awaited album titled ‘5-Star’. The ‘Komboni Dugude’ song taken from that album earned him a nomination in the Best Dancehall Album category at the 2015 Mosi Zambia Music Awards event. In July 2015, he released a dancehall banger entitled ‘Pamodzi’. The track featured Wezi and was produced by Lil G.
