Ganzo

Bio

Ganzo (real name Marlyse Bonhome Gwiza) is an upcoming artist from Kigali, Rwanda. She was born on 06 August 1988 in the Democratic Republic of Congo popularly known as the DRC. She sings Gakondo music. Her stage name Ganzo is an abbreviation from Inganzo. Her involvement in music was prompted by singing songs from other prominent local musicians while she was a teenager.

She attended Camp Kigali Primary school. She later moved to France where she completed her primary school and senior one. She came back home and joined Notre Dame de Citeaux in Kigali for her full secondary school studies.

Her rise to fame was through a collaboration she did with Intore Masamba on a song called ‘Komera Rwanda’ (meaning Rwanda be strong). The song was released to strengthen the survivors of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis. She has also released a number of hits like ‘Ntabwoba’ (2009) produced at Ubuntu studio, ‘Wowe’, ‘Byakubaho’ and ‘Umunyarwanda’.

Besides music, she is currently studying Computer Science at the National University of Rwanda.
