Gabriel Steveman

Gabriel Steveman (real name Steve Mpomba) is a musician from Malawi. He was born at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre. His music was inspired by the rough background he experienced whilst growing up. He was raised by a single parent, his mom, and life was never easy for him. He attended Zingwangwa Primary and Nsanje Secondary schools. After finishing high school, he joined Tamandani Ambuye Youth Gospel group. This saw him practicing music and participating in the drama group.

In 2013, he won the Zamakono Media House Summer Talent Show that saw him securing a record deal with one of the prominent record rebels Pro-Pee Records. Shortly afterwards, he recorded his single ’Udzizimitsira’ at the recording stable. He has worked with a number of local artists, chief among them Truemel of Euphonix Sounds.
